I’m a big fan of Adam & Joe. Since thier Channel 4 show of olden times they’ve not ceased to amuse me with a delightful childish humour.

Naturally, I’m a big fan of the STEPHEN! movement. For those not in the know STEPHEN! is becoming a kind of masonic handshake for Adam & Joe fans. Anywhere in public, you shout out STEPHEN! and other listeners will reply ‘Just coming…’.

The phrase was first coined here:

I went to see Bill Baileys tinsel worm show in the west end last night. Very amusing it was, and good times were had by all. Anyway, as the introduction ended and the lights dimmed there was a brief pause in which I let out the best STEPHEN! I could muster. To my delight there was at least three muted, but very distinct, ‘just coming’s followed by a small ripple of applause. It was all very pleasing and I had a big smile on my face.

Readers, please, if you do not already listen to Adam & Joe, you must. If you do, make sure you STEPHEN! regularly.
